Booking bands and musicians for your venue used to be a complex and time-consuming process. But with GigPig, it’s a breeze. Our handy platform makes finding the perfect artist for your gig or event quick and easy.

You can always get in touch to get an idea of what to expect from GigPig, but we’re also here to cover the basics and explain just how we can make booking live bands and artists smooth and stress-free.

How GigPig is changing the music scene

The way in which venues find and book musicians — especially independent artists — has changed vastly over the years, particularly with the rise of social media. Back in the day, one of the best ways to find new talent was to attend local gigs. Now, if you spot a musician you like the sound of, you can likely drop into their DM’s on Instagram.

While both of these can indeed be great ways to make a live performer booking for your venue, they’re not always successful. Not every band has a strong social media presence and busy schedules can make it tricky for venue bookers to get out and about to lots of shows.

Contacting agents is another option. But after their cut is taken into account, it can leave the artist somewhat out of pocket…(to say the least).

Michael, Kit, Ed, and Andrew thought there must be a better way — and so GigPig was born. Seamlessly uniting artists and venues through a live music marketplace, our platform takes away the middleman. You can explore an array of bands, DJs, and musicians to find the ideal performer for your venue’s show then add them to your centralised calendar.

Booking music artists with GigPig: Step-by-step

So, how do you get started with live musician hire through GigPig?

  1. Browse the artists available

As a hospitality music marketplace, our platform showcases thousands of incredible artists. Each performer or band has a profile including their performance history, format, and their availability.

You can listen to music samples to get an idea of whether that artist is a good match for your venue.

  1. Set up a favourites list

Found some artists you like? Add them to your favourites list so you can come back to them easily. This feature can help you keep track of bands and artists to streamline your future bookings.

  1. Create your booking

Ready to make a performer booking? Use our platform to input your event details, and we’ll handle the rest — including contract management and payment processing. Did you know you can also make booking templates to make repeat bookings fast and easy?

  1. Manage your calendar

You can manage your bookings on a centralised calendar — ideal for keeping all your booking information in one place. Whether you run one venue or multiple, you can keep everything organised. Our calendar system also syncs up effortlessly with Apple and Google calendars, meaning your performers' details are always at your fingertips.

Helpful filters also ensure you find the details you need quickly and easily.

  1. Clear your invoices

GigPig simplifies your financial management by processing payments directly through the platform — and it will always be HMRC-compliant. Go for Automatic Accounting, where you receive artist invoices immediately once a gig is signed off. Or opt for our One-stop Payment House system — you just pay one invoice and we’ll distribute the pay between your artists.

As well as reducing your admin time, our payment system is error-free and ensures everyone gets fair pay, on time. The result? Excellent artist relationships and repeat bookings, as we know if there is one thing artists will positively shout about, is venues paying them in full and on time.

Our pricing

Our aim is to help you with booking live musicians, and we recognise that every venue is different. That’s why we offer a range of pricing tiers that allow you to find the system that works for your needs and budget.

  • Pay as you go: Do you host the occasional gig? With pay-as-you-go access, you just pay £10 per live music booking.
  • Weekly access: For venues booking bands once a week, a £40 monthly fee lets you book four times.
  • Standard access: With standard access, you can book up to 20 gigs per month for £150.
